1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Patterns of Peace ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Patterns of Peace is a volunteer matching platform that connects individuals in Ohio with volunteer opportunities. The Platform provides AI-powered matching, volunteer hour tracking and organization-confirmed verification, a shareable volunteer portfolio, community features, optional donations, and organizational tools.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
Post false, misleading, or fraudulent volunteer opportunities.
Harass, abuse, or harm other users through the community features.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other users' accounts.
Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the Platform.
Misrepresent your volunteer hours or activities.
Submit false verification contacts, request verification from someone who did not supervise your service, or otherwise attempt to obtain a verification you did not earn.

5. Volunteer Opportunities

Patterns of Peace acts as a connector between volunteers and organizations. We do not:

Guarantee the accuracy or availability of listed opportunities.
Employ, supervise, or insure volunteers.
Assume responsibility for interactions between volunteers and organizations.

Volunteers participate at their own risk and should verify opportunity details directly with the listed organization.

6. Organization Accounts

Organizations that list volunteer opportunities on the Platform agree to:

Provide accurate and current information about their opportunities.
Comply with all applicable laws regarding volunteer engagement.
Not discriminate against volunteers on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Abide by the terms of their subscription plan, if applicable.

7. Hour Verification

You may request that an organization confirm volunteer hours you logged. By doing so, you represent that you actually performed the service and that the contact you provide is an appropriate representative of that organization. Verification responses are provided by third parties; Patterns of Peace does not independently audit hours and makes no guarantee that any verified or unverified status is accurate. We may modify or remove a verification, and may suspend accounts that abuse the verification system.

8. Donations

Donations made through the Platform are voluntary and processed by our third-party payment provider (Stripe), subject to their terms. Unless explicitly stated otherwise at the time of the donation, donations support the operation of Patterns of Peace, are not tax-deductible, and are non-refundable except where required by law.

9. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its design, code, content, and branding, is owned by Patterns of Peace. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without written permission.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings.

11. Limitation of Liability

Patterns of Peace is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to interactions with organizations or other volunteers.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
